Whether you're volunteering, doing an internship or just visiting Cuzco as a tourist, staying at the Casa de los voluntarios is a stable way of helping the organization. In fact, part of the rent goes directly to the organization and is injected into project funding. Just a ten-minute walk from the city center, this comfortable hostel welcomes volunteers and offers single, shared and double rooms, for couples and groups of friends. Staying at the hostel is also a great way to meet new people from all over the world. What's more, group activities (salsa, yoga, swimming, etc.) are offered on certain mornings of the week, and every Thursday evening we organize "la cena", a meal for all the volunteers.
What's more, these two types of accommodation are alternatives to hotels and B&Bs, most of which are openly developed for more traditional tourism, more disconnected from local reality. Staying with us or with a family is a great way to nurture a more sustainable form of tourism, one that genuinely helps the local population. In this way, you are helping to reduce the harmful effects of mass tourism in your own way, and enjoying a truer, more unique experience. We also work with the sustainable tourism agency WanderlustPerúwith whom we organize numerous nature outings and visits to local communities.
